The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), celebrated its 9th Anniversary on 7 October 2026 at the Prime Minister’s Museum & Library, Teen Murti Bhawan, New Delhi. The programme commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. (Dr.) James J. Nedumpara, Head, CTIL and WTO India Chair, IIFT, followed by the address of Dr. K. Rangarajan, Vice Chancellor, IIFT; the Anniversary Address by Smt. Kapil Chaudhary, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; the Special Address by Shri Yashvir Singh, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; and a video message from Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Commerce Secretary, Government of India. The celebration was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice P. S. Narasimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India, as Chief Guest, whose keynote address highlighted the evolving framework of international investment law and the need to balance investor protection with the regulatory authority of States. The occasion also marked the release of CTIL Magazine’s ninth anniversary issue, "The Emerging Sustainability Landscape: Responding to Shifting Winds", and a special anniversary edition of Investment Law Compass. The programme concluded with the presentation of Distinguished Long Service Awards, followed by the CTIL Alumni Meet and Dinner, reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to research, policy engagement and capacity-building in international trade and investment law.
