The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, in collaboration with FICCI, organised the Conference on “Next-Gen Trade Pacts: Leveraging India’s Partnership with Europe under FTAs” at FICCI Federation House, New Delhi. The conference brought together policymakers, industry representatives, trade practitioners, legal experts, and academia to deliberate on India’s evolving trade engagement with Europe and the opportunities emerging under ongoing and prospective Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). The conference featured thematic discussions on India–Europe trade agreements, regulatory and compliance frameworks in Europe, services trade opportunities, and the implications of the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for Indian industry. Speakers highlighted the importance of strengthening export competitiveness, compliance preparedness, market access strategies, and India’s integration into global value chains. The conference also featured a presentation on the Trade Remedies Advisory Cell of CTIL, highlighting CTIL’s initiatives to support stakeholders on trade remedies and trade policy matters. The deliberations concluded with engaging interactions among speakers, industry stakeholders, and participants, contributing to meaningful discussions on strengthening India’s trade partnership with Europe.
