9th International Conference on Law and Economics: Empirical & Applied Law and Economics of Governance and Inclusive Public Policy

16-18 Janurary 2026 02:30 pm
Gandhinagar, Gujarat
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), in collaboration with the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), successfully hosted the 9th International Conference on Law and Economics from 16-18 January 2026 at GNLU, Gandhinagar. The three-day conference convened academicians, policymakers, jurists, practitioners, and industry experts from India and abroad to engage in interdisciplinary discussions on contemporary issues at the intersection of law, economics, governance, and inclusive public policy. The programme comprised expert plenary addresses, thematic panel discussions, and parallel technical sessions, fostering rigorous academic exchange on emerging legal and economic challenges shaping trade and public policy. CTIL played a key academic role in the conference, leading focused engagements on services trade and professional mobility, governance of traditional knowledge under the WIPO TKGR Treaty and the WTO TRIPS Agreement, and India’s approach to trade in health services. These discussions brought together government officials, industry leaders, and scholars to examine evolving regulatory frameworks, sectoral policy gaps, and pathways for sustainable and inclusive economic development.
