The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), IIFT New Delhi, in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC), UNCTAD, the World Bank, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the World Economic Forum (WEF), successfully organised a Workshop titled “The Investment Facilitation Landscape: Emerging Trends and Approaches” on 12 December 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The Workshop brought together senior government officials, international experts, academics, industry representatives and policy practitioners to discuss the evolving role of investment facilitation in a competitive global environment. The Inaugural Session featured welcome remarks by Prof. (Dr.) James J. Nedumpara, Professor and Head, CTIL, followed by a Special Address by Ms. Himani Pande, Additional Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and opening remarks by Prof. Karl P. Sauvant, Senior Fellow, Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment. Shri Amitabh Kumar, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, delivered the Keynote Address. Session II focused on India’s approach to investment facilitation, being chaired by Mr. Harsha Vardhana Singh, former DDG, WTO. Session III, chaired by Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, focused on the international investment facilitation landscape. Session IV, was chaired by Mr. Sumanta Chaudhuri, Principal Advisor, Trade Policy Division, CII, The Workshop concluded with Concluding Remarks by Prof. (Dr.) James J. Nedumpara, a Special Address by Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development and the Valedictory Address by Shri B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, CEO at NITI Aayog.
