Finolegal Convergence Summit 2025

The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) participated in the Finolegal Convergence Summit 2025, held on 5 December 2025 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, under the theme “Regulation. Innovation. Globalization - Building India’s Legal-Fintech Edge.” The Summit brought together policymakers, legal practitioners, industry leaders, and scholars to deliberate on the evolving regulatory and legal landscape of fintech and digital finance. Representing CTIL, Mr. Pranav Narang, Associate, CTIL, contributed to discussions addressing compliance frameworks, regulatory design, legal innovation in fintech, cross-border regulation, digital trade, and the emerging legal architecture governing global fintech ecosystems. The Summit commenced with inaugural remarks by Dr. Upasana Arora (Chairperson, SEPC & Group Managing Director, Yashoda Super Speciality Hospitals, India), Shri Vikash Singh (President, Supreme Court Bar Association), Dr. Pradeep Rai (Chairman, India Legal Research Foundation & India Legal Aid Centre), Mr. Ajay Singh (Head of Technology and Innovation, Austrian Embassy - Commercial Section), Mr. Ebrima Maboob (Deputy Head of Mission, The Gambia High Commission), and Mr. Ravi Sikri (Senior Advocate, Delhi High Court), followed by an address by Dr. Abhay Sinha (Director General, SEPC). Sessions on smart regulation and digital trust were led by Mr. Dipender Bhamrah (Co-Founder & CEO, LexiMoney), with insights from Mr. Prateek Gautam (SVP - Sales, PaySprint), Ms. Nikita Bhatia (Founder, VenturEasy), and Mr. Pranav Narang (Associate, CTIL). Subsequent deliberations focused on trust, transparency, and legal safeguards in digital finance, chaired by Mr. Imtiaz Ali (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), with panel contributions from Mr. Vikas Panwar (Country Business Manager – India, GLEIF), Dr. Yash Pal Sharma (Former Joint Director, Government of India & Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), Mr. Amber Gupta (SVP - Legal Head, National Stock Exchange), and Dr. James J. Nedumpara, with the session contribution delivered by Mr. Pranav Narang on behalf of Prof. Nedumpara. The concluding session addressed cross-border fintech, arbitration, cryptocurrency regulation, and compliance, chaired by Mr. Manik Ahluwalia (Counsel, Manik Ahluwalia Law Office), and featured Ms. Devna Arora (Deputy Head – South Asia, Singapore International Arbitration Centre), Mr. Ashu Bhatnagar (Senior Divisional Manager, Delhi Division, LIC), Dr. Sunil Kumar Agarwal (Former Joint Director, NSCS & Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India), Mr. Soham Shah (Senior Vice President – Business Development, Presolv360), and Dr. Daksha Sharma (Assistant Professor, South Asian University). The Summit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Chandranshu Awasthi (Senior Director, SEPC). For CTIL, participation in the Finolegal Convergence Summit 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to engaging with platforms where policy, practice, and research intersect, and where dialogue contributes to advancing responsible innovation, effective regulation, and meaningful global engagement in trade, investment, and digital governance.
