Ms. Lisa Ningombam is an International Trade and Commercial Law professional, and member of the
Bar Council at the High Court of Delhi and a young professional (with experience) at CTIL and is
currently deputed with the BRICS (Services) Division at the Department of Commerce, Ministry of
Commerce and Industry. She completed her LL.B degree from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law,
Delhi University in 2016 and holds a Legum Magistra (LL.M) in International Trade and Investment
Law (TRAIL+) with Diploma of Advanced Studies in Economic Law (DAS) from World Trade Institute,
University of Bern, Switzerland. She was also a successful participant of the John H. Jackson Moot
Court Competition on WTO Law held in Kiev, Ukraine (2020). She previously worked in private
companies as in-house counsel at Wattkraft and Air Charter Services and has also worked and
interned with law firms and international organisations in India and abroad such as Ex Lege
Chambers, Centre for WTO Studies, Karanjawala and co., Saket District Court and Andersen
consulting/Sidera Consult (Market Access & Expansion). While she started her legal practice
focussed on conventional dispute resolution practice expanding to transactional commercial law,
she has keen interest in International Trade (WTO) regulations covering some of the core domains
like laws related to Trade in Services and Goods, Trade Remedy, IPR, Non-Tariff Barriers to Trade like
TBT, Rules of Origin, Trade Facilitation and advocates for inclusive and equitable and sustainable
trade interest through evidence based advocacy, rigorous cross-sector research and effective
representation.
